Lars Theuerkauff
Berlin-based painter Lars Theuerkauff, born in Lüneburg in 1968, studied with Robin Page and Cristina Iglesias at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich (1992-1997), and completed his studies in Heinz Emigholz’s film class at Berlin University of the Arts. Theuerkauff creates series based on montages of censored photographs and videos, prompting viewers to engage as voyeurs, experiencing emotions like tenderness, hatred, compassion, or repulsion. His work mirrors and challenges the viewer's perspective, creating a complex emotional dialogue. His distinctive style has been showcased in numerous solo and group exhibitions worldwide, including New York, San Francisco, Zurich, Stuttgart, ART Karlsruhe, and Berlin.
