Magdalena Maatkare
Magdalena Maatkare (born 1988 in Langenargen, Germany) studied at the Sorbonne, ENS Lyon, and UDK Berlin. Raised across cultures in Germany, France, and West Africa, she has lived in Berlin since 2017. Maatkare’s work has been showcased internationally, including at the Goethe Institute Dakar, Galerie Petra Lange Berlin, and Grand Palais Ephémère Paris. Her unique textile collage technique with waxprint fabric creates powerful explosions of color. Maatkare focuses on cultural understanding, using textiles as symbols to unify diverse elements. She perceives and visualizes energetic fields on canvas, with her works supporting inner healing processes.
