As an artist of the Chinese '70s generation, Tang Wugang grew up during the era of globalization, which reached its peak in the late 1980s and 1990s.

In the early years of his artistic career, Tang Wugang was profoundly influenced by the art of Western modernism. This inspiration led him to develop a new approach to perception and image creation, distinct from that of his predecessors, within the context of China’s contemporary neo-Enlightenment movement.

The works in the exhibition "Whispers of Light – Tang Wugang's Veils and Vistas" transcend the boundaries of traditional landscape painting. By intertwining Zen philosophy and personal inspiration with the interplay of light and shadow, and through the dialogue between color and form, Tang integrates these elements into every brushstroke. His paintings are not merely depictions of natural beauty but also artistic manifestations of a dialogue between the spirit and the universe.
